Greenland has a range of events that exact very different
demands on the participants' physical abilities. If you choose to
take part in the more extreme events such as
Greenland Adventure Race, your physical fitness and stamina
will be tested to the full.
Summer and winter events
During the summer months a number of sporting events such as the
Polar Circle Marathon,
Nuuk Marathon and
Arctic Midnight Orienteering are organised, whilst, in addition
to events such as cross-country skiing in the Arctic Circle
Race, the winter months also offer the traditional dogsled trip
Arctic Palerfik. As all events take place at some of the most
popular tourist destinations in Greenland, there are plenty of
opportunities to spend time exploring neighbouring towns and
settlements, and excursions are also offered to participants'
companions.
