South Greenland is well known by the intensity and frequency of this light show. Mid-August marks the end of 24 hours of daylight and the arrival of the Northern Lights, normally visible during the two or three hours after nightfall. Our Qaleraliq glacier camp and hostel in Tasiusaq, with a total absence of light pollution, are used each year by astronomers to observe them.
