We recommend clothing according to the layer-to-layer principle,
which allows the body temperature to be regulated by removing or
adding layers of clothing or by opening and closing your jacket. It
is a good idea to have wool closest to the body, then a layer of
insulation and an outer layer that is both windproof and
waterproof. It can be quite warm in the sun, but as soon as you are
in the shade, the temperature falls markedly.
During the summer a pair of waterproof lightweight walking
shoes/boots or shoes with a sturdy moulded sole are the best
choice. During the winter "moon boots" are fine for a dogsled ride,
but are not recommended for hiking.
