Times are changing in Greenland. The shift of time zone marks an exciting new beginning, an equal connection to North America and Europe, and an opportunity to slow down in a fast-paced world.
Today, Greenland is divided into four time zones. The regular time zone is UTC -2, while Ittoqqortoormiit in East Greenland has the time zone UTC -1.
The weather station “Danmarkshavn” has the time zone UTC +0, and Pituffik (Thule Air Base) UTC -4.
Confused? We get it.
But actually it is quite simple – check out the map below.
Now most of Greenland is changing its time to UTC -2 and that means that Greenland will have a three hour time difference between both North America and Europe, moving one hour closer to Europe.
