One of the museum’s buildings consists exclusively of exhibitions of art and handicrafts from the Maniitsoq region: Paintings, sculptures carved in whale tooth, bone and soapstone, as well as other arts and crafts.
How do I get to Maniitsoq?
Air Greenland flies to Maniitsoq via the international airport in Kangerlussuaq. In addition, there are several flights a week from Maniitsoq to Nuuk and Sisimiut, and the town’s three settlements are regular ports of call for combined freight/passenger ships. Arctic Umiaq Line's passenger ship, which sails along Greenland’s west coast, also often calls at Maniitsoq. Enquire at your travel agency for timetables and frequency.
