Kangaatsiaq is one of Greenland’s smallest towns, and with its location close to a 150-km (95-mile) long fjord complex, there is plenty to do on the water in summer and on the fjord ice in winter.
Examples of activities
Wildlife safari in both summer and winter
The rich wildlife can be experienced in the summer by boat or on organised kayaking trips, and in winter trips are naturally by dogsled. On land you can meet musk oxen, reindeer and Arctic foxes, and the sea is home to many whales and seals, whilst seabirds dominate the air. Kangaatsiaq is also known for its good fishing waters, and so there is always the chance of catching your own dinner.
