07.03.18 - Hotel Icefiord in Ilulissat is now a 3-star hotel

The hotel, which is located in Greenland's most popular tourist town, Ilulissat/Jakobshavn, previously had the status of a bed & breakfast establishment.

Hotel Icefiord will soon be launching a number of new initiatives: these will include North Greenland's first microbrewery, conference facilities and an Internet café.



- Hotel Icefiord has had a clear goal of changing the bed & breakfast concept and upgrading the hotel's services, as well as increasing the number of stars, says hotel manager Rikke Nielsen to the local Internet news service iluliarmioq.gl.

- The first beer will be poured from the taps of our new microbrewery in early summer 2007. In addition, our kitchen will also be applying more focus to the use of Greenlandic raw ingredients, thanks in part to our new smokehouse, she says, and adds:

- In August 2007 the hotel will open brand new conference facilities that can cater for a maximum of 80 participants, as well as providing views of the mouth of the ice fjord from the conference rooms and the latest AV equipment.

In addition to its 31 rooms, Hotel Icefiord offers wireless Internet connection in guests' rooms, two terraces - one of which has a sea view - reception and lounge area with a woodburning stove, a café serving light lunches and an evening restaurant with an à la carte menu.
