You can get to Greenland from three different countries: Denmark, the USA and Iceland; and the routes are flown by three different airlines: Air Greenland, Scandinavian Airlines and Air Iceland.
By plane to Greenland from Denmark
Air Greenland flies from Copenhagen to Kangerlussuaq/Sdr. Strømfjord in West Greenland and to Narsarsuaq in South Greenland. During the summer period Kangerlussuaq has up to eight flights a week. Narsarsuaq is served in the same period by up to three flights. The flight time to both destinations is around 4½ hours.
Onward transport to other towns on Greenland's west coast is either by plane or by helicopter, and there are frequent connections that ensure that you normally reach your final destination on the same day. Contact your local travel agency, Air Greenland or Scandinavian Airlines for more detailed information.

From Narsarsuaq it is also possible to take Arctic Umiaq Line's passenger ship heading north.
By plane to Greenland from Iceland
The Icelandic airline Air Iceland (not to be confused with Icelandair) flies from Reykjavik to Kulusuk and Nerlerit Inaat on Greenland's east coast all year round. During the summer months, Kulusuk has daily flights. This is a very popular way of getting to East Greenland.
During the summer Air Iceland also flies to Narsarsuaq twice a week and to Nuuk three times a week. Flight times to Kulusuk and Narsarsuaq are approximately two hours from Reykjavik. Contact your travel agency or Air Iceland for more information.
By plane from the USA to Greenland
During the period June-September 2007 all flights between Greenland and the USA will be on a Boeing 757 from American Trans Air. The Baltimore-Kangerlussuaq route departs at 10:00 (local time) and arrives at Kangerlussuaq at 16:45 (local time). There are same-day connections to other towns in Greenland. The flight time is just five hours. Contact your travel agency or Air Greenland for more information.
