07.04.09 - Fly to East Greenland via Iceland

This summer Air Iceland will once again have daily flights to Kulusuk – the East Greenlandic town on the island of the same name.

At Kulusuk travellers can go on various excursions, such as hikes and sailing trips, or journey onwards by helicopter to the region's largest town, Tasiilaq, which lies on the glacier-rich island of Ammassalik.

During the period 28 May until 15 September there will be daily departures from Monday to Saturday. In the high season from 2 July until 11 August there will be two daily departures and arrivals between Reykjavik and Kulusuk.

Tasiilaq

By helicopter to Tasiilaq
It is approximately a two-hour flight between Reykjavik and Kulusuk and a further 10 minutes by helicopter to Tasiilaq/Ammassalik - which is a very picturesque flight over the ice-filled sea that separates these two rocky islands.

Air Iceland offers package holidays to Tasiilaq, the biggest town in East Greenland with its approximately 1,400 inhabitants. The package deals include return flights between Reykjavik and Kulusuk and between Kulusuk and Tasiilaq by helicopter, as well as two nights at Hotel Ammassalik in a double room with full board. Individual journeys can also be arranged.

Enquire about prices and departure times at Air Iceland, www.airiceland.is, (+354) 570 3030, Fax: (+354) 570 3001.
