07.06.14 - Experience the best Arctic char fishing of your life at Sisimiut

The location is Sisimiut in West Greenland and the travel agency in question is called GetAway Tours, which in the summer months is offering a unique trip catering for 11 adventurous anglers.

GetAway Tours can offer your own char camp at the mouth of the river not far from Sisimiut. It is a tent camp that is built up around a permanent hut which functions as a kitchen and common area for those on the trip.



The participants fish in a river complex that flows from a 23-kilometre (14-mile) long and several kilometre wide gorge. In this river complex there are several large lakes and not least an almost 20-kilometre (12-mile) long river with some of the finest fishing waters you can imagine.

The season runs from the middle of July to the end of August, and even though it is summer, the weather can fluctuate from temperatures of just a few degrees with wind and rain to blue skies and up to 20 degrees Celsius (the high sixties Fahrenheit).

Transport to the camp requires a flight by plane, a boat trip and a hike.
