Individual press trips
A separate and important area of Greenland Tourism's PR-activities is arranging press trips. Greenland Tourism supports press trips through e.g. reduced flight tickets from Copenhagen to selected destinations in Greenland and sometimes discounts on accommodation in cooperation with the tourism industry in Greenland.

The way to apply for financial support is to follow this procedure:

A written application is sent to Greenland Tourism in Copenhagen, and contain information about:

- The journalist or media in question
- A description of the purpose of wanting to go to Greenland
- Size of budget
- Size of support request
- Main focus in Greenland
- A rough itinerary including date suggestions
- Copies of earlier articles or other printed publications or film tapes.
- A list of media contacts.
- Commissionary letters from editors-in-chief or other relevant source.
- In short as many details about the project as possible.

The next step is that Greenland Tourism looks very carefully into the specific request with reference to Greenland Tourism's overall PR and marketing strategies. Henceforth, a reply will be given to the journalist or media.

Most important of all, remember to make the application as detailed as possible.

Group press trips
Greenland Tourism arranges 1-2 group press trips a year. These press trips are carried out in close cooperation with the tourism sector in Greenland as well as the transportation companies Air Greenland and Arctic Umiaq Line.

In order to be taken into consideration for one of these group trips the above-mentioned procedure valid for individual press trips must be followed.

Plan your own press visit
You may want to plan your own individual press visit to Greenland. In the address section you will find all necessary contact addresses in Greenland on among others local tourist offices and destination companies that can inform you about the possibilities in their area, book accommodation and make individual arrangements for you. Furthermore, we list all addresses to the relevant transport companies.

Overweight
Please notice that any overweight of equipment must be booked by yourself. You book the overweight directly through Air Greenland - Copenhagen Airport (tel: +45 32 31 40 88) with reference to your booking number. Overweight is paid for at check-in.
Unless other agreements have been made the journalist always pays the overweight and Greenland Tourism nor Air Greenland can be held responsible.
