Individual press trips
A important area of Greenland Tourism's PR-activities is arranging press trips. Greenland Tourism supports occationally press trips through e.g. reduced flight tickets from Copenhagen to selected destinations in Greenland and sometimes discounts on accommodation in cooperation with the tourism industry in Greenland.

The way to apply for financial support is to send a written application Greenland Tourism in Copenhagen, or mail to pressgreenland.com

- The journalist or media in question
- A description of the purpose of wanting to go to Greenland
- Size of budget and support request
- Main focus in Greenland
- A rough itinerary including date suggestions ( Earliest depature from Copenhange, Latest arrival back in Copenhagen )
- Samples of earlier articles or other printed publications or film
- Commissionary letters from editors-in-chief or other relevant source.
- Target groups, circulation, readers, viewers

Greenland Tourism reply asap. Please note that request with 1-2 months notice rarely are supported.

There is no deadline, but in generel the most serius medias are 5 months up to one year ahead with their planning.

Group press trips
The Branding Greenland group and Greenland Tourism arranges a few group press trips a year. In order to be taken into consideration for one of these group trips the above-mentioned procedure valid for individual press trips must be followed.

Plan your own press visit
You may want to plan your own individual press visit to Greenland. In the address section you will find all necessary contact addresses in Greenland on among others local tourist offices and destination companies that can inform you about the possibilities in their area, book accommodation and make individual arrangements for you.

Overweight
Please notice that any overweight of equipment must be booked by yourself. You book the overweight directly through Air Greenland - Copenhagen Airport (tel: +45 32 31 40 88) with reference to your booking number. Overweight is paid for at check-in. Unless other agreements have been made in writing the journalist always pays the overweight and Greenland Tourism nor Air Greenland can be held responsible.

Clima
Greenland has a lot of visual sings documenting the changing climate. The icecap has melted several meters on the edges, the gleciers are withdrawn many miles, seaice are non existent where it use to be, and permanent frozen ground are starting to heat up. In other places like the South of Greenland, there are an increasing amount of vegetables, and the animal life with whales, codd, praswns, birds and polar bears has moved compared to their usual habitats.

Quite obviusly the world medias has zoomed in on theese "stories of climate change" from Greenland, especially now with the upcoming climate conference in copenhagen september 2009. ( www.cop15.dk/en )

Air Greenland and Greenland Tourism are not able to support all the good ideas, but hope the medias prioritate to bring them anyway.
