The welcoming Hotel Arctic is set in lovely surroundings with a view of the town and the fjord and its impressive icebergs. Situated just outside of the town and 1.5 kilometres from the airport, the hotel bus shuttles regularly between the hotel and the town.
The relaxed yet professional atmosphere makes a stay here pleasant and rewarding. It is a four-star hotel and has the Green Key award in recognition of its environmentally friendly management.
From May to October it is possible to stay in one of the charming aluminium igloos right next to the hotel. All rooms are equipped with shower and toilet, electric heating, telephone and TV.
Two places to eat
The hotel has two places to eat, the Restaurant Ulo and the Brasserie "Takanna", as well as a bar. Both eating places have an outstanding view of the town and the mouth of the ice fjord. The fusion cuisine at the Restaurant Ulo offers both novelties and classics, international and Greenlandic. All the dishes are prepared from excellent fresh ingredients. You can enjoy a cup of coffee by the open fire in the lounge, which has been decorated by Lin Utzon. The Brasserie "Takanna" (which means "here you are" in Greenlandic) has a modern selection of light and quick meals which elegantly combines the various qualities of the café, bar and à la carte restaurant.
For detailed menus and wine lists from both the Restaurant Utzon and the Brasserie "Takanna", visit the Hotel Arctic homepage.
