Greenland is simply different - it's unique. Greenland is dramatic and fragile at the same time. The wide open spaces, the cleanness of the air, the silence, the gigantic icebergs and their magnificent blue colours, the soft light from the midnight sun, all coincident with the unpredictable nature make you at peace with yourself.

Merle Conradi-Larsen, Divisional Director Business Development and Marketing during a Fertin Pharma visit to Ilulissat in May 2004.

It can be difficult to imagine the sight of 90 dogsleds setting off at high speed across the white landscape. It is absolutely fantastic and very impressive that it is possible to mobilise so many sleds and dogs for a simple event.

There is no doubt that Greenland makes its mark on the soul. The nature and colours are not just very special. The surroundings also raise a meeting or a conference above the ordinary. At many of our meetings at the Hotel Arctic I have spoken to colleagues who feel that the intense conviviality at the hotel and in the town give a rare motivation and pave the way for new ideas and new inspiration. If you make contact with the local people, you will find good humour and a courtesy which it is hard to find elsewhere.

Dr. Frank Senderovitz, Director of Education for the Danish Dental Association

Most people know that choosing Greenland as a meeting place means an extraordinary experience. However, many people are surprised that the country offers so many well-functioning course venues. We have held a lot of meetings in Ilulissat and have always enjoyed excellent service and have had many good experiences at the Hotel Arctic. The food is outstanding, and the numerous providers of experiences work very well. We are now planning a new meeting for April 2005.

Dr. Ole Marker, DDS, Head of CE for the Danish Dental Association

Several people warned me that Nuuk would not give an impression of the "real" Greenland. That is not true at all. The meeting programme included two half day excursions. On a whalesafari in Godthåb Fjord we saw lots of whales, and we saw the country's fascinating ice cap on a helicopter trip to the inland ice. It couldn't be more the real Greenland than that. We stayed at the Hotel Hans Egede and had delicious food at Gertrud Rask's restaurant. In fact I think many of us experienced a lot more than we expected.

Anders Frølund, Deputy Manager, Information Office, Aarhus University during a meeting for Nordic university administrators 10-14 August 2004.
