Being a society in great transition, Greenland has in recent decades been characterized by remarkable industrial development and social progress.

Through the rapid development of the fisheries industry in the eighties and nineties, our isolated and dispersed hunting communities have experienced economic growth and social development, heralding the advent of a modern Arctic society.

Our vast and majestic inland ice is the source of unlimited freshwater supplies – actually it is the largest freshwater reserve in the world. Exports of ice and fresh water has begun some years ago – but still in a small scale. We believe, that the exports of ice and water will become a major industry in Greenland in the decades to come.
