Close to nature
Kangerlussuaq lies at the base of a 160-kilometre (100-mile) long fjord of the same name, which appropriately enough means "the long fjord". The settlement is an exciting adventure destination that can be reached in just 4 hours from Europe. Kangerlussuaq offers attractions and experiences to suit all tastes at all times of the year.
Wildlife and relics of the past
Just a couple of kilometres from Kangerlussuaq’s airport you can see some of the area’s approximately 5,000 musk oxen on a musk ox safari, or while on a hike or a rented mountain bike. The region is home to a lot of wildlife in general, which includes reindeer, arctic foxes, mountain hares and birds, and if you venture out into the fells, you will find many remnants of the Greenlandic hunting society that used to dominate the region.
